St. Louis Lambert International Airport

St. Louis Lambert International Airport Expansion

MHR International, as a sub-consultant to Sverdrup-Parsons and Kwame Building Group, provided MWBE procurement and monitoring services for the $2.2 billion Lambert St. Louis Airport Expansion project.

A massive undertaking, the expansion phase of the project involved the:

– Demolition of 3,000 houses.
– Design and construction of a new runway for automobiles.
– Automobile tunnel construction.

MHR International organized networking sessions between general contractors and regional Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), and also conducted educational seminars for DBE firms on a variety of topics, including how to write winning bids, how to secure bonding, how to perform contract close-out, and how to ensure quality control. Through aggressive outreach, MHR International succeeded in meeting or exceeding goals set for DBE participation on the project.

MHR International provided similar services, including monitoring contractor compliance with municipal and federal regulations, for the St. Louis Airport Residential Sound Program for Noise Reduction, begun in 2004. Among other structural modifications, this phase of the project involves installing new windows and doors on houses in the flight path, as well as replacing air conditioning window units with central air to reduce noise impact.
