Georgia World Congress Center Expansion IV

MHR International was part of the team in the $230 million Georgia World Congress Center Phase IV Expansion project, which succeeded in securing 32% minority contractor participation. This impressive outcome far surpassed the modest 7-10% participation goal typically set for state projects of similar magnitude.

Initially, MHR International compiled a database for review by the joint venture construction management team. At a subsequent pre-bid conference where attendees learned about the scope of work involved, prime contractors were given the opportunity to partner with minority and female subcontractors to increase their own competitive edge in the bidding process. MHR International was instrumental in helping to review the more than one hundred sealed bids that were submitted.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center is now the world’s largest LEED certified convention center, hosting hundreds of world-renowned events every year.
